Bg6 What’s changed?

‘BG6: A Design Framework for Building Services’ was first published in 2006, with the primary aim of clarifying the roles and duties of those involved in the design phases of construction projects. It’s since been revised and updated, reflecting the changing nature of UK construction industry, and the implications these have had for the allocation of design responsibilities.

Many parties contribute to the design of building services systems, from project inception to completion. BG6 provides teams with a clear framework for agreeing on responsibility for each task on a specific project.

Changes in technology, regulations, standard requirements, methodologies, and approaches have introduced new issues and added new sections (and revised others), including the schedules contained within the appendices.

1

Updating of references to the RIBA Plan of Work 2020.

4

Addition of a new section on the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 with descriptions of related roles, activities and deliverables, and updating of the Activities schedules
